Sama conducted an interactive learning workshop on some important issues vis-à-vis gender, health and rights with specific reference to ART, Surrogacy, gender based violence, and the role of the health system for a group of 30 young people on 30th June 2013 in New Delhi.
Planned as a workshop primarily for Media students (journalism, mass communication, cinema studies) and young media professionals, there were students from other streams such as Sociology, Gender Studies, Political Science, Math, Economics, History, Medicine, etc.
The workshop format included a short introduction and discussion on specific issues of Surrogacy and Sexual Violence, using the documentary film titled ‘Can we see the baby bump’, produced by Sama, After which there was question and answer session and open discussion and presentation by Sama.
