A capacity building workshop was organised along with Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti (BGVS) in Bhubaneswar as a part of Sama’s continued initiatives to strengthen capacities of communities, community based organizations, health workers and others, to situate domestic violence and sexual assault in a framework of gender, public health and rights, towards improving community and health care response.
The workshop facilitated strengthening of linkages between GBV and health. Discussions were held on existing strategies to address the issue at the state level and possible future ways of engagement particularly vis-à-vis linking the issue of gender based violence with the health sector. The workshop was attended by participants from various organisations, sangathans and JSA members working on issues of health, reproductive health, women and child rights and young people.
